A premium product at an affordable price, the all new M.I.T. 100 was designed with style. This easy to wear and easy to use inflatable personal floatation device (PFD) features membrane inflatable technology inside to reduce product weight and create a lighter and more flexible fit. This inflatable PFD is approved by the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) for use as a Type III Personal Flotation Device Type V (Commercial Use) PFD. It is not approved for water skiing or other high impact, high-speed activities. The M.I.T. 100 is easy to inflate in an emergency. The PFD has a replaceable 24g CO2 cylinder that when activated by pulling the bright yellow detonator pull tab will fully-inflate the PFD within 5 seconds providing 26 lbs. (11.8 kg) of buoyancy for typical boating activates. The M.I.T. 100 Auto-Activation PFD, will automatically inflate within 10 seconds after the inflator is immersed in water. The water-sensing bobbin will disintegrate, triggering a spring-loaded plunger, which punctures the CO2 cylinder. The buoyancy provided by the PFD is more than 1.5 times the buoyancy of most foam PFDs. The M.I.T. 100 PFD is equipped with an inflator inspection window and easy access flap for added safety and convenience.
