BRM, inventors of the Flex-Honec, are now offering a new kit that is ideal for a variety of automotive applications such as brake calipers, brake cylinders, lifter bores, and u-joint yokes. The Flex-Hone Tool is a resilient, flexible honing tool with a soft cutting action. The abrasive globules are laminated to flexible nylon filament making the hone self-aligning, self-centering and self-compensating for wear. The heavy duty stainless steel stems can be used in any collet, chuck, or similar holding device. Whether it’s deburring a hole or blending an edge, the Flex-Hone will provide a superior surface finish with an oil holding crosshatched pattern. The Flex-Hone is also useful for many bearing and bushing applications. The Flex-Hone Tool was originally created to deglaze cylinder walls in automotive applications and has gained many nicknames over the years including ball hones, flexi hone, dingle berry hone, bead brush, glaze breaker, and glaze buster. The kit contains the following premium tools: BC10M18, BC1218, BC5818, BC3418, BC7818, BC10018, BC11418, BC11218, BC13418, and BC20018. The 180 grit silicon carbide can achieve a finish range of Ra 30-40 (0.7–1.0 Micrometer). Included in the kit is a ½ pint of our exclusive Flex-Hone oil, a proprietary blend of lapping oils, moisture dispersant, surfactant wetting agent and suspension additives which is recommended to produce the best finish and promotes longer hone life. A USB flash drive containing how-to videos, application guides, and surface finish tech books is included as well.
